       ADMISSIONS AND FINANCIAL AID

The Office of Admissions individually reviews and evaluates each application realizing the importance of learning about each student as a whole. Applications are free online and require high school/college transcripts and SATs. Personal visits to campus are strongly encouraged so that students can meet the admissions team and experience the College first-hand. AMC has rolling admissions but encourages students to complete the admissions process as early as possible. The admissions office can be reached at [email protected] or 800-344-4586 ext. 360 for questions or more information.

In keeping with the mission of Anna Maria College to make education accessible, the financial aid staff helps students and their families achieve their educational goals by discussing financial aid opportunities and tuition payment options and assisting with the completion of all financial aid documents. AMC requires only one form for undergraduates applying for financial aid− the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The College offers merit-based grants and scholarships, as well as need based aid. For more information about financial aid opportunities, contact [email protected] or 508-849-3366.

       INTRODUCTION:

Find your voice, refine your vision

Aspiring artists at AIB will benefit greatly from their time here. The institute is small enough to feel focused, but large enough to feel exciting, vital, and rich with opportunities. As a part of Lesley University students have access to the broad resources of a larger university. AIB provides a nurturing intensive environment for learning and growth. The students come to know each other, learn from each other, and inspire each other. The faculty and staff are incredibly accessible. And the small classes enable more individual attention, effective learning and collaboration.

       4 DISTINCTIONS

       ENGAGED STUDENTS

Students at AIB are most importantly deeply involved in their work as they become more adept to express their artistic ideas. Artists must find their own path, and this can be done at AIB with the plethora of activities and educational opportunities to find new points of view…

       Beginning the Journey

In the U.S., AIB is a member of the Association of Independent College of Art and Design (AICAD). Through the association, AIB students also have the option to spend their junior year at one of the 30 schools in the AICAD association, located across the country. A year program of study and studio art in New York City is among the most popular. Boston Architectural Center and the Maine Photographic Workshop also have classes open to AIB students.

AIB offers students experience in a professional environment as part of preparing for a career. Internships give students the opportunity to work as members of a professional team, to test and hone their technical and creative skills, and to connect with professionals in their chosen fields. AIB students have interned at leading corporations, design firms, advertising agencies, photography studios, galleries, museums, and more—including Allen & Gerritsen Advertising, Big Blue Dot, The Boston Globe, Brand Equity International, Design Continuum, Encompass Communications, Lego Systems, Mullen Advertising, Natural Health, Philographica, Reebok and WGBH.

Student life at AIB means more than work. Yes, the AIB curriculum is rigorous, and the work is challenging. But the hours in class or studio are balanced by many opportunities for new experiences and fun – both on campus and in the Boston area. AIB offers students a variety of musical activities, including visiting artist lectures, gallery and museum visits, student coffee houses, clubs, athletics, outings, and study breaks. AIB students also take advantage of Boston’s accessible and exciting culture at clubs, concerts, sports events, and theaters.

Study abroad programs are available where students can, for example, study for a semester at the Art Institute of Florence Italy. There are a variety of other programs, including options in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and Burren, Ireland. Our students also have the opportunity to spend a semester in on of 30-member colleges belonging to the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design. We bring established
