       ADMISSIONS AND FINANCIAL AID

Admissions At Daemen, our Admissions staff will help guide you through the process from start to finish. Daemen offers a rolling admissions policy. The average student enrolled has a 91 GPA and 1060 SAT. We also have a “test optional” policy which provides you with a choice regarding the submission of standardized test scores. This policy was designed for students who have demonstrated academic excellence in the classroom and who do not believe their standardized test scores accurately reflect their abilities. Apply on-line at daemen.edu or at commonapp.org

       Financial Aid

Individualized Financial Aid Daemen doesn’t want financial issues to keep any admitted student from attending. That’s why they strive to create individualized financial aid packages for you and your family that will meet your needs and enable you to get the most out of your college education.

Scholarships At Daemen they don’t just lure new students in with impressive financial aid packages that gradually fizzle over the next few years. Instead, they offer substantial financial aid to all of their students and work hard to ensure that paying for college doesn’t become a burden for their returning students. In fact, over 90% of their full-time undergraduate students receive some type of financial assistance to continue their education. The average financial aid package at Daemen College is worth $20,100.

Daemen offers outstanding scholarship opportunities. Each year, we award more than $13,000,000 in scholarships and grants (institutional funds), in addition to federally funded financial aid.

Daemen offers merit scholarships based on a student’s academic and leadership achievement.

       President’s Scholarship: up to $10,500

       Dean’s Scholarship: up to $7,500

       Alumni Grant: up to $6,000

Trustee Scholarship: (2) Full-tuition and (4) $15,000 awards (by nomination)

Student Employment In addition to traditional aid in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans, on-campus work opportunities for qualified students are plentiful. From staffing the front desk in a residence hall, working in the President’s and Vice President’s offices to serving coffee in the Cyber Café, work-study jobs abound. There is sure to be a job that’s right for you.

Help Along the Way Learning to navigate the financial aid system can be a daunting task. That’s why Daemen has trained professionals on hand to assist you every step of the way. Their Admissions Staff and Financial Aid Officers are available to assist you and your family with the financial aid application process, and to ensure that you understand the necessary paperwork and deadlines required in order for you to receive the best financial aid package available.

       INTRODUCTION:

      Discover the Worlds Within.

Picture Fordham as a laboratory where you can explore the deepest meaning and fullest measure of success. In the process you will acquire the knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience to succeed in your chosen field. Fordham offers you both the firm foundation and the competitive edge that will make you a leader at work and a success in your life.

       4 DISTINCTIONS

       ENGAGED STUDENTS

      Engaged Students

The true college experience is a journey of self-discovery. At Fordham, every student has the opportunity to discover his or her true self, through academics, service, activities (clubs, organizations, etc.), spiritual reflection and athletics.

       Within Fordham, Within Yourself

With its two distinctive residential campuses—green and gothic Rose Hill, on 85 acres adjacent to the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo; and cosmopolitan Lincoln Center, in the heart of Manhattan, across from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts—Fordham offers students virtually unlimited possibilities for learning and personal growth. Students often say, “New York is my campus. Fordham is my school.”

Fordham draws students from across the country and around the world, who want to live and learn in the global capital of commerce and culture. The University offers one of the most extensive internship programs in the country. Students choose from more than 2,600 internship options in business, communications, education, government, health care, biomedical research, law, the arts, and other fields. The Office of Career Services also offers workshops, career days, one-on-one career counseling, and on-campus interviews with major corporations. Students compete for and earn prestigious fellowships and scholarships—including Fulbright, Truman and Mellon scholarships, and other competitive awards. And each year, more than 4,000 students engage in community service, both locally and in distant corners of the world, through the University’s award-winning global outreach program.

       GREAT TEACHING

At Fordham, faculty members are scholars who challenge students to reach beyond and mentors who lend their support and expertise. The Fordham faculty and curriculum educate the whole person.

       Cura Personalis

Fordham invites students to enjoy a wealth of resources and experiences, and dedicated professors who challenge students to excel within a supportive community.

Fordham has a proud history of approaching education in a distinctly Jesuit way, one that emphasizes cura personalis, a commitment to nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and challenging students to surpass their perceived limitations. This kind of education unites both heart and mind, and at Fordham, this occurs within and beyond the classroom.
