Three days ago we came from Nelson city to the National Park «Nelson Lakes» camping and after great time there now we’re driving back to the city in order to take north-west direction to the famous Golden Bay tomorrow.
Photos at the stops:
We arrived to National Park at midday at 18/12 and it was late (thanks God!) to go to the great hiking route to Angels Hut, about 2000 m high because of late – it takes about 6 hours to get there. It’s just a hut like roof for sleep with no facilities and rain water to drink. The cool woman helped us with all the stuff:
We booked places in the hut for 18/19 night, entrance to the campsite with a hot shower, then went for short (if I knew what they call «short»! ) route – to the St Arnaud stones, about 1600 m. That was really challenging for me to go more than 3 hours strictly up and up without any plane space. The area was like jungles we met before at Taranaki. It was difficult to go and moreover to take a photo shots. But when we reached the top I had no doubts that this sight is worth to live.
We had some time to rest and take a shots, and also I was taking my time laying in the grass (it’s so soft). Then we had our way to back to the campsite. It took 2 hours and wasn’t too hard. When we gone down
to the camping we saw a great sunset.
At the morning I took a shower, dried my hair in the hand dryer at the toilet (it was the best hair I’ve ever done, it’s seems because of good water) and while we were having the breakfast I took a decision not to go 2000 m up again and stay in the camp till tomorrow midday – I wanted to take a sun and have a short track around the local jungles. Dima made re-packing all the staff in his packer because he has to gone alone and have gone, left me for the day and night in a camping in a tent. It was good time for me to sleep more, have a sun-taking hours, reading and walking easy rout about the lake.
I was talking with 2 guys from USA sitting on the jungle bench today when I felt that it’s time to return to the camp and inner voice was right – Dima returned
