atmosphere of the college.

In addition to more traditional housing, several housing options are of interest to an increasing number of parents and students. Merrimack’s wellness housing offers students the option of living on floors that are voluntarily free of any alcohol or drug use, an increasingly popular option. The college’s Austin Scholars community offers students a living and learning program for students with intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continue the level of involvement they had in high school activities.

Merrimack College offers twenty-two varsity sports. Twenty-one of the sports compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Northeast-10 Conference, while men’s hockey competes in the Division I Hockey East Association, placing 2nd in the Hockey East Championship and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament, ranking #7 in the country.

Students have numerous opportunities to be involved in competitive sports, fitness activities, and recreation through Merrimack’s more than two dozen intramural and club sports like basketball, darts, dodgeball, hockey, swimming, indoor and outdoor soccer, softball, ultimate football, and volleyball, to name a few.

Only five minutes from the commuter rail and a twenty-five minute drive to Boston, Merrimack offers fast connections to city activities, nightlife, shopping, culture, and events—not to mention the metro area’s large college-age population. Whether students want to hone their career skills, see a Broadway show, or soak up some colonial history among the skyscrapers, Merrimack students think of Boston as their biggest classroom.

       SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES

Career development staff host career fairs, information panels, recruitment days, seminars on job-interview techniques and resume writing, and career-exploration workshops. Employer recruitment on campus and alumni networking are also available through career development services. Further, Merrimack’s career services extranet allows students to post their resumes for review by major companies and arrange interviews and meetings—all online.
