ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Steven Cartwright resides in the country outside of St. Louis and has spent more than 40 years in the automotive field. He currently holds 30 ASE certifications.
After graduating from State Tech (Linn Tech) of Missouri in the 1970s, he worked as a technician and service manager for a nation-wide auto chain. He moved on to become a line tech for a Ford dealer in St. Louis and then worked for Carter Carburetor and Tomco Carburetor in Los Angeles. He spent 27 years with Federal-Mogul as the curriculum development manager and corporate technical trainer for Moog Chassis and Wagner Brake, traveling the US and Canada. Most recently, he was a regional trainer for TBC in Florida and now teaches at a large automotive college in the Midwest, where he specializes in chassis, brake, driveline, and HVAC.
He earned the Top Tech Trainer of the Year award early in his career and has been involved with NACAT since 1985. He spent many years on college advisory boards and assists with ASE question writing workshops.
He and his wife, Terry, have been married almost 40 years and have a son, daughter-in-law, and grandson in Florida. Steven enjoys boats, muscle cars, touring and off-road motorcycles and has owned many over the years. With his son, he built
