Monkeys and apes come in
many different sizes and colors.
Some are big. Others are very
small. Some have red fur. Others
have black. What do they have
in common? Monkeys and
apes are both primates. Their
eyes face forward, and they
have five fingers on each hand.
Usually, monkeys are smaller
than apes. Also, a lot of monkeys
have tails, but apes do not.
Most apes and monkeys live in
warm or tropical forests. During
the day, they look for food to eat.
At night, most monkeys and apes
sleep in cozy nests up in the trees.
Monkeys like warm weather.
They live in Africa, Asia, Central
America, and South America.
The biggest and most colorful
monkey is the mandrill. Mandrills
live in the African rainforest.
