It is my opinion, America has been ruled by a litany of toothless fools who have sold out the American dream and have placed this country on the slippery slope into world leaders oblivion...soon to be a third world country. Just as we leave Iraq, President Obama, who bad mouthed Bush II, sends 15,000 Marines to Australia. Seems he has a taste for conflict as long as its… his conflict.

      Chapter VII

DID THE FRENCH DESIGN THE BAY OF PIGS

Michael Flynt and Louis de Bouvier’ agreed to meet at the Washington Hotel for a well-deserved lunch. Flynt was well dressed for a CIA operative, but his lunch mate could only be described as nothing short of elegantly attired, looking and acting the part of royalty.

Louis de Bouvier’had lived in the United States for more than a decade. He spoke beautiful English, with a hint of French which left a sense of worldly sophistication and a mover and shaker here in the capitol. He was comfortably viewed as a man of wealth, influence and power.

Michael Flynt, tall and athletic, not as cultured and refined as his guest but was quietly more self-confident among men. He had been in the fox hole, saw death in the eyes of friend and foe...it changes a man and he knew sitting there if he was hanging from the edge of a cliff, Louie' was not someone he would expect to save him.

No where, he thought looking around, would he find a man among those in this power lunch bistro, where the Kennedy influence for anything French, gave rise to a speedy make-over as a tribute to the First Lady, and limp wrist.

So Flynt would sweat it out here in this seat of power and justice which begets a certain confidence and the unspoken promise to carry the exaltations and to expect the right of passage into power and wealth. Louis de Beauvoir', a French transplant, now living in Texas, had...a courtly foreign accent and he embellished it with a Texan’s drawl, giving it a continental flair. Unlike other immigrants to this country, who make no effort to Americanize their speech and customs (Do you remember Henry Kissinger?) the globetrotting messenger of Republican Presidents most especially Nixon who insisted on maintaining his German dialect and thearrogance to fit the modus operandi..

Flynt had known Louie' for many years and was aware that he had been debriefed by the CIA after several trips abroad. Even now with a common interest, Flynt wasn't certain who was punching his meal ticket. Louie' was slick and a master of the political Fandango...especially where there were wives involved.

Louie' reminded Flynt of the old joke of the suitor caught on top of his host's wife. When the host asked the man indignantly what he was doing on top of his wife, the suitor had the presence of mind to respond, "why I'm giving her resuscitation", to which the husband replied, "Oh I thought you were fucking her."

But personal feelings aside, this meeting was about Cuba and Louie's role in it.

"You would think Kennedy would learn that Castro is not going to be pushed around and with the support of the Russians they are quickly becoming the world rogues.” Louie' said.

"You're right Louie' and I would add the Cubans and the Russians have gone to school on the manner in which the United States has manipulated Israel." Flynt said.

"I know which side of the Cuban issue you are on my valued friend, and I respect your position." Louie' said.

"This is what I do Louie". Flynt responded

"It is my hope the United States has put Cuba behind them." Louie' said.

"Well your request has been partially answered in a resolution between Russia and the United States in a quid pro quo, a "this for that" wherein Kennedy agreed to stay away from Cuba in return for the promise that Cuba would not become the launching site for the short-range nuclear weapons. Kennedy had his chance to kill Castro and he ends up giving him a lifetime position with a pension."

Flynt smiled and continued, "The exiles have lost interest...more importantly they have lost faith in the word of the President. The exile leaders abhor this gringo for causing the deaths, needlessly they believe, of thousands of friends and relatives on Blue Beach."

"It's an American tragedy," Louie' said with a gesture of his hand. "The word, even the signature of the past seven or eight Presidents is not to be trusted. This is the reason that this country is viewed as a country in decline; it happened to France, to England, to Rome, to Russia...only Germany, ironically, remains true to its vision of world dominance through economic innovation and quality production. And one day I predict that Germany will once again be the dominate world power."

"And Louie' what do you do with China?"

“China suffers from ten or fifteen thousand years of customs and the inability to be believed...something about the Asians that belies their desire to steal your drawers as they offer the pear."

They laughed, and Flynt said, "I'm agreeing with you much too often today, but I too believe that China's complex ideological beliefs compromise its political best interest whereas the Germans are more inclined to worship at the altar of design and technology, and if the Germans had not chosen to go to Russia as did Napoleon, the World Crimes Tribunal might have convened in Washington, DC.”

"It all depends on whose ox is being hoisted on whose petard." Louie' said.

Louie' had married well, so he knew about goring the ox...five times, he went for the purse.

"But my dear friend, I know you well enough to know that you are not a man for small talk and world politics...you are more inclined to be at the center of some conflict that establishes a shift in power...so what is on your mind?" Louie’ asked.

"Seriously, there is no appetite for another Cuban invasion, the President has seen to that. He is following in the footsteps of his processors of the past fifty years in Korea and Vietnam...This country has gone from tacit approval and support of dissidents, agitators and ex-patriots in the over-throw of its government to a political mentality that can only be described as abject disapproval for civil disobedience of any kind."

"And how would you view the shooting of General Walker?" Louie' asked.

"Well, Walker is far right of the Pacific Ocean as you can get, my guess is that Kennedy is sorry that the shot didn't do the job." Flynt said.

"I've met the man and he is a total ego manic and I believe mentally ill." Louie' said.

      "Which man?" Flynt laughed.

"You sound like you might have ordered or took the shot." Louie' smirked.

"I wasn't crazy enough, but I have a lead on the guy who did it." Flynt said

"I have a friend in New Orleans who says he sees the guy come by his office every day...a kid he knows, got turned onto leftist politics when he was in the Marines, you know fringe warfare. In 1959 he defects to Russia and they send him to Minsk where he falls for a Russian beauty and marries her. He gets homesick and comes home pestering the hell out of everyone until he gets what he wants. The CIA wants to know what he knows; they have asked me to talk with him. So I introduce him to Merlot and Steak tar-tar...he sings like a bird, told me why, what and when...a big shot talk...he was looking for a father or a confessor."

"Louie', this is the perfect Segway into my reason for calling you. The company is exploring a way to reignite the passion for retaking Cuba. This island is essential for the long-term security of this country. There is a plan that is being fashioned that will require a man like this kid. Of equal importance, this is an expensive plan because it involves many people to be trained, munitions and sophisticated weapons with long range scopes...we need an angel with very deep pockets to fund this operation." Flynt said.

"Sounds like you are going to kill someone."

"No, we plan to miss him."

"You are joking, of course." Louie' said

"No sir, this is a plan to reverse the passion for another invasion of Cuba. An attempt on the life of the President while in Miami will inherit the wrath, the ire and the full support of the congress, the President and the public."

      "Well...I
