Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgment. You do we worship, and Your aid we seek. Show us the straight way, The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath. And who go not astray.

      (Quran 1:1-7)

      2

O mankind, Worship your Lord, Who created you and those who came before you, that you may become righteous – [He] who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto God (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped).

      (Quran 2:21-22)

      3

How can you reject faith in God seeing that you were without life, and He gave you life? Then He will cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will you return. It is He who has created for you all things that are on earth; then He turned to the heaven and made them into seven firmaments. And of all things He has perfect knowledge. Behold, your Lord said to the angels: “I will create a vicegerent on earth.” They said: “Will You place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood, while we do celebrate Your praises and glorify Your holy (Name)?” He said: “I know what you know not.”

      (Quran 2: 28-30)

      4

And fear a Day (of Judgement) when no soul will avail for another soul, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be helped.

      (Quran 2:48)

      5

And they say: “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian” Those are their (vain) desires. Say: Produce your proof if you are truthful.” Nay, whoever submits his whole self to God and is a doer of good, he will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

      (Quran 2: 111-112)

      6

Say: “We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord: we make no difference between one and another of them, and we submit to God.”

      (Quran 2: 136)

      7

Then do remember Me I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not faith. O you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer: for God is with those who patiently persevere.

      (Quran 2: 152-153)

      8

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.

      (Quran 2:155)

      9

Behold! In the creation of the heaven and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which God sends down from the skies, and the life which he gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth; (here) indeed are signs for a people that are wise.

      (Quran 2: 164)

      10

It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards east or west; but it is righteousness - to believe in God and the Last Day. And the angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer. For those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and give Zakah (charity), to fulfill the contracts which you have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing.

      (Quran 2:177)

      11

And spend of your substance in the Cause of God, and make not your own hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for God loves those who do good.

      (Quran 2: 195)

      12

They ask thee concerning intoxicants and gambling. Say: “In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; But the sin is greater than the profit . . .”

      (Quran 2:219)

      13

When they advanced to meet Goliath and his forces, they prayed: “Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm: help us against those that reject faith.” By God’s Will, they routed them; and David slew Goliath; and God gave him power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. And did not God check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: but God is full of bounty to all the worlds.

      (Quran 2: 250-251)

      14

Let there be no compulsion in religion. Verily, truth stands out clear from error. Whoever rejects false dieties and believes in God, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And God hears and knows all things.

      (Quran 2:256)

      15

The parable of those who spend their wealth in the Way of God is that of a grain of corn: it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. God gives manifold increase to whom He pleases, and God cares for all and He knows all things. Those who spend their wealth in the Cause of God, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, for them their reward is with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Kind words and covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. God is free of all wants, and He is Most Forbearing.

      (Quran 2: 261-263)

      16

If you disclose (acts of) charity, even so it is well, but if you conceal them, and make them reach those (really) in need, that is best for you: it will remove from you some of your (stains of) evil. And God is well acquainted with what you do.

      (Quran 2: 271)

      17

To God belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth. Whether you show what is in your minds or conceal it, God calls you to account for it. He forgives whom He pleases, and punishes whom He pleases. For God has power over all things. The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord. As do the men of faith, each one (of them) believes in God, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. “We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of his Messengers.” And they say: “We hear and we obey: (we seek) Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the end of all journeys.” On no soul does God place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) “Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which you did lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have Mercy
