Exercise 1: Learning to Sense Energy
This exercise will build your awareness of the energy all around you and heighten your ability to “read” your own energy field and that of other people.
Rub your hands together until you create friction and you feel your hands heat up. Hold your hands out with palms facing each other. Feel the energy between your hands as you try to push them together. You will become aware of your own energy field or aura. You will begin to realize that your energy field acts just like a magnet. It will repel things that do not have the same frequency or attract things that are the same frequency.
Walk around your house and feel the energy of the different rooms. Walk into the room where you spend the most time. Feel your energy imprint that has filled your space. Pick up some of your personal possessions and feel the energy of the objects. Your personal energy field has been absorbed by these objects.
Does your spouse have a private work space? Now go into his/her room and feel that energy. Feel the energy of his/her possessions. Do the two rooms and the two sets of possessions feel different?
If you have children, go into their rooms and feel their different energy. If you do not have a partner or children, visit an array of friends and feel the different energy in their houses. You will see that each friend has a unique frequency and the energy will vary. Is the energy light and bright or is it dense, depressing, and heavy? Feel the reaction in your body as you enter each individual’s room. Focus especially on your solar plexus, heart chakra, and your “gut” feeling. Remember how those areas in your body feel.
Keep practicing this exercise so you can reprogram yourself to understand that you, everyone, and everything are composed of energy and that some energy is light and positive while other energy is dense and negative.
Exercise 2: Seeing Energy
Some people can actually learn to see energy. You might already have the gift of second “sight.”
Ask a friend to stand against a white wall. As you look at your friend, do not try to focus; just let your eyes relax, and you may be able to see a rainbow of colors above his or her head or round the hands and body. If you see colors, you are seeing the spirit body or aura. Are the colors vivid and powerful or dark and barely visible? Does this aura expand a long way or is the energy field thin and dim?
Ask a friend to read your aura/energy field while you stand against a white wall.
Exercise 3: Changing Your Energy with Music
Music can be a useful medium to help you change and clear your energy field. Sound in the form of music, musical notes, or chanting can be used for chakra balancing. Repetition of sound supports bringing the body, mind, and soul into a meditative state, where healing occurs and creates a continuous vibrational environment. The frequency of music affects our own energy frequency because we adjust our energy to match that of the music. Your energy will change from dark to light with the click of a CD play button. Visualization with the associated chakra color while using sound can deepen and amplify the healing experience. Sounds may be soft and gentle; they do not have to be loud. You do not have to sing to sound the chakra notes; you can sound them silently or aloud. Follow these exercises and you will see.
Put on a selection of music. Listen to a happy, upbeat song and see how your energy feels. Then put on some loud rock. Now play a slow sad song and feel how your energy frequency changes.
You will feel your energy change from a high light frequency to a low energy. Feel how your body, especially your heart chakra and solar plexus, responds to the music. When you feel sad, heavy, and bad, remember that feeling in your body. When it feels good, light, and bright, remember the feeling in your heart chakra and solar plexus. These are your “Yes” or “No” beacons. Keep changing the music so you can fine tune your ability to “read” your energy beacons and determine which energy feels good and what feels unhealthy for you.
Sing, hum, or silently sound each chakra note for up to five minutes each, starting at the root and working your way up the body. Musical notes can also be chanted as part of a sound meditation. Focus on the chakra as you sound the associated note. The more you allow the musical note to resonate throughout your body, the deeper the healing affect.
Buy a Tibetan singing bowl. Its sound will resonate through your chakra system. They create a wonderful, healing sound.
Buy a set of wind chimes to clear the energy inside and outside your home.
Exercise 4: Changing Your Energy with Color
Color is energy and the energy of color affects our frequency. Your energy changes as you wear different colored clothes or when you paint a room a particular color. Practice feeling how your energy changes as you tune into the color of your clothes or enter a colored room. Color can be dense or light, either giving energy or absorbing energy. Feel how the dense color of black absorbs energy and how white purifies and lightens your energy field. Color can brighten your mood, soften you, and make you feel stronger or put you in a bad mood. Blue soothes and protects while red is passionate and makes you feel more powerful; green calms the body and releases anger as orange brings joy and helps you heal from grief and loss; yellow is used for mental stimulation; pink opens the heart to unconditional love, and purple connects you to your spirituality and brings success into your life. If you are in need of more power in your energy field, then wear a red sweater; if you want to connect to your femininity and find love, wear a pink shirt, or if you want to connect further to your higher self, then put on a purple dress.
Exercise 5: Unblock Your Energy Meridians
You can book an appointment with an acupuncturist to rebalance and unblock your energy meridians. Acupuncture will help you relax and help energy flow smoothly through your chakra system so your body can stay young and healthy. Acupuncture works directly with the body’s energy or Qi. Acupuncture practitioners believe that all illnesses are a result of the natural flow of energy through the body becoming stuck, depleted, or weakened. Acupuncture benefits the rebalance of Qi through treatment of specific acupoints related to symptoms. Treatment is effective in removing these energy obstructions.
You can also visit a reflexologist who will massage the energy points on the soles of your feet. These points correlate with different organs in your body. You can also massage the energy points of your own feet at home to save time and money.
You can balance your chakra system by visiting a Reiki practitioner. Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki meaning universal life energy. Reiki is an ancient laying-on-of-hands healing technique that uses the life-force energy to heal and balance the subtle energies within our bodies.
You can practice the art of hands-on healing with friends. Place your hands on a friend’s shoulders. Close your eyes and imagine sending energy from you into his/her body. Feel energy move down from your crown chakra through your body, down your arms, and out of your hands. You should start to feel your hands heat up and your friend’s shoulders should start to feel warm. This is how many hands-on healers cure people of aches, pains, and illnesses. Ask your friend to tell you how he/ she is feeling at the end of this exercise; then ask your friend to place his/her hands on you so you can experience an energy healing.
Please note to be careful whom you allow to place his/her hands on you or send you energy. If his/her soul is not purified, then you do not want your energy field contaminated with less than the highest quality of energy. Ensure that any practitioner you seek is a highly qualified Reiki expert or acupuncturist who understands the importance of emotional clearing and the difference between the
