then)
blood arrives. For five thousand years, this sacred phrase has been the key principle in traditional Chinese medicine for healing all kinds of sickness. Qi is energy. Blood is matter.
The Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic, the authority book of traditional Chinese medicine, states, “qi xing xue xing, qi zhi xue ning.” “Xing” means
flow or
move. “Zhi” means
obstruct or
block. “Ning” means
stagnation. “Qi xing xue xing, qi zhi xue ning” (pronounced
chee shing shooeh shing, chee jr shooeh ning) means:
If qi flows, blood flows. If qi is blocked, blood is stagnant. In traditional Chinese medicine, all sickness is due to blockages of qi and blood.
