to commencement of the work, the contractor may issue a written request to the owner for proof of funding for the project. The contractor has no obligation to commence the work until the owner provides such evidence.       C. Notice of Claim Provisions for the Owner's Failure to Make Timely Payment to the Contractor

      1. AIA A201 General Conditions

      Per Section 9.7 of the AIA A201, if the architect fails to certify the contractor's payment application within seven days of receipt or if the owner fails to fund the contractor's certified payment application within seven days from when required by contract, then the contractor may, upon seven days' notice to the owner and the architect, stop the work until the issue is cured. The contract time shall be extended appropriately, and the contract sum shall be increased to account for the contractor's reasonable costs of shutdown, delay, and start-up. In addition, the contractor is entitled to interest as provided for in the contract documents.

Thus, Contractor intends to stop work on the Project if certification is not made within seven days of that date of this notice.
