      Join side seam.

       Simple Mittens

Mittens are the simplest way to start knitting gloves and this stockinette stitch design couldn’t be easier – the hardest part is choosing which of the two color variations to make.

       Skill Level- Easy

You Will Need For Multi-Color Mittens

      Yarn

      1 x 312oz (100g) hank of medium-weight (aran) multi-colored wool yarn (150yd/138m per hank) in pink/green/gold/ecru mix

      Knitting Needles

      • One pair size 5 (3.75mm)

      • One pair size 7 (4.5mm)

       Finished Measurements

      To fit sizes S [M:L]; width around palm is 7 [712:8]in (18 [19:20.5]cm) and 7 [712:8]in (18 [19:20.5]cm) long from wrist

       Gauge

      18 sts and 24 rows to 4in (10cm) measured over st st (1 row k, 1 row p) using size 7 (4.5mm) needles

       Knit Notes

Both pairs of mittens are worked in stockinette stitch with a snug-fitting cuff in k1, p1 rib worked on smaller needles.

The thumb on each mitten is shaped using M1, and the tops are decreased with ssk and k2tog.

       Knit Your Right Multi-Color Mitten

Using size 5 (3.75mm) needles, cast on 32 [34:36] sts loosely.

      Row 1 *K1, p1; rep from * to end.

Rep this row until rib measures 2in (5cm).

Change to size 7 (4.5mm) needles.

      Work 2 rows in st st (1 row k, 1 row p), starting with a k row.**
