      To my husband Carl: Thank you for all the years of your love and support in allowing me to be who I am and continually encouraging me to keep a journal of my rhymes.

      Thank you to my sister, Cindy, who encouraged me to write the words down. You have been an inspiration and have offered me encouragement throughout my life.

      Introduction

      My card making journey that led to the rhymes all started with a trip to Florida to visit my sister, Cindy. She is a talented card maker and has a room dedicated to card making that would make any crafter envious. She graciously allowed me to work in her room to make cards for my four grandchildren. I wanted to encourage them in their uniqueness and express my love for them. When it came time to add the sayings on the cards, I was at a loss for word, so I sat down at her computer to type out my words. I’m a passionate believer in praying for the Holy Spirit to lead me in everything I attempt, so I asked for His guidance. To my amazement, out popped a beautiful rhyme. I was in shock, it was amazing! When my family read it, they oohed and awed. This continued for all four cards.

      The next thing I knew, Cindy asked if I would write one for a card she was making. It was exactly what she had in her heart to say, but she couldn’t find the words. She felt so blessed. I knew that the couple she made the card for had a son and I felt as if the Holy Spirit said, “Make one for Him.” When I showed her the words I had written for their son, Cindy said she hadn’t intended to make one for him, but she definitely was now.

      When I returned home from my trip, I was greeted by an email from Cindy expressing how important it was for me to write down the words. As a result of Cindy’s persistence and encouragement from my husband, I did. This book is the fruits of that labor.

      It is my desire that you simply enjoy the words or if you feel they express what you would like to say to bless others with, you use them as your own.
