‘Twenty Minutes to Master Your Psychic Potential’ may seem like a grand claim or a tall order to achieve, but profound change can occur in an instant. In my own experience, I have witnessed many people making extraordinary discoveries about themselves and instigating changes in their lives. It only takes a minute to embrace a new idea that sends you in a completely new direction, turning left at the crossroads instead of going right or finding a new path that had previously been hidden from view. Similarly, a concept that you had once entertained intellectually, but had never truly embraced, can touch your heart in a moment, to be understood at a deeper level and profoundly transform your awareness. The trigger can be as simple as a laugh, a smile or a sentence that jumps out at you from the pages of a book.
When this book was published in its original, paper edition, my world was a very different place. I was living in London with my then life partner, working as a teacher of personal, business and spiritual development courses. My career was blossoming in a number of directions with my profile becoming increasingly public through my books and broadcasting work. Digital publishing was in its infancy. The seeds were there but none of us were then actively downloading books to our smartphones and portable tablets.
Following the loss of my partner, numerous other bereavements and some time out to travel and re-invent myself, I now find myself in a totally different environment. After some time alone, I would not have expected to be newly married, living in the Hampshire countryside and discovering a whole new purpose to my life.
As with millions of others, I love the revolution in digital media. While I still delight in the feel and look of a good paperback or the solidity of a glossy hardback book, I love having the ability to access a world of exciting literature at the click of a button or the tap of a screen. I believe that words have developed a new beauty as they sit on a virtual shelf or are formatted to flow across a virtual page, challenging older readers to look and think again while opening up new territory for younger explorers.
