      KNITTING PATTERN OF THE BABY JUMPSUIT (0—3 MONTHS)

      Materials:

      • circular needles 100 cm 4 mm (US 6)

      • double-pointed needles 4 mm (US 6) – 5 needles

      • buttons

      • markers

      Yarn:

      100—120 m (110—130 yds) in 50 g (1,75 oz) for wool yarn

      Yarn examples: Alize Lanagold Classic, Alize Superlana Midi

      Gauge: 16 stitches x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm= 4 inches x 4 inches

      Knitting process

      1. Knitting neckband for ribbing

      Take circular needles 100 cm 4 mm (US 6) and the working yarn. Cast on 45 stitches. Knit 6 rows for 1x1 ribbing (K1, P1) (knit back and forth):

      Rows 1, 3, 5: slip, (K1, P1) – repeat 22 times

      Rows 2, 4, 6: slip, (P1, K1) – repeat 21 times, P2

      K – knit stitch

      P —purl stitch

      2. Decorating neckband

      Row 1: slip, (K1, YO to yourself) – repeat 43 times, P1

      Rows 2—5: slip, (K1, slip the purl st with yarn in front) – repeat 45 times, P1

      Row 6: slip, (K2tog) – repeat 43 times, P1

      Next begin the main pattern of jumpsuit.

      Next, we will knit elevation of the back.

      Elevation of the back is done by working 4 additional rows.

      Transfer to the right needle without knitting: 8 stitches of the left button band (7 stitches of the left button band +1 stitch of raglan = 7 stitches) and 28 stitches of the left sleeve (26 stitches of the left sleeve +2 stitches of raglan = 28) and take the yarn from another skein.

      Row 1 of the elevation of the back: K1 from raglan line, K37, K1 from raglan line (all 39 stitches) – K39. Turn the work so the wrong side is facing.

      Rows 2—4 of the elevation of the back: slip, K37, P1. Turn knitting.

      Cut the yarn.

      Transfer stitches of the left sleeve and the left button band back onto the left needle.

      In 23 row begin to knit the body of jumpsuit (without sleeves):

      Row 23: slip, K7 (6 stitches of the button band +1 stitches of raglan =7), transfer to the contrast yarn 28 stitches of the left sleeve (26 stitches of the left sleeve +2 stitches of raglan=28), K39 of the back of the jumpsuit (37 stitches of the back of the jumpsuit +2 stitches of raglan=39), transfer to the contrast yarn 28 stitches of the right sleeve (26 stitches of the sleeve +2 stitches of raglan=28), K7 of the button band, P1 (all 55 stitches on the circular needles 8+39+8=55)
