Learning to trust can be the greatest adventure.
She’s always played it safe...
Can he reach her guarded heart?
Ready to open his camp for young cancer patients, Daniel Stephens must impress foundation overseer Blythe McDonald to ensure she approves funding for next year. But the cautious former cancer patient was once let down by a similar program, and she’ll leave no stone unturned in her evaluation. Can he convince her his camp is worthy of the money…and that he’s worthy of her love?

Text to speech
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Funny.” Daniel crossed his arms over his chest. “I was about to ask you the same thing.”
“Evie is my companion,” Blythe said. “It’s up to me to decide what she can and cannot do.”
“True, but when you seem to focus on the can’ts more than the cans, it’s time for me to intervene. What gives? Why aren’t you letting Evie do what she wants to do?”
Indignant, Blythe squared her shoulders and lifted her chin. “I’m simply looking out for Evie’s best interest.”
“Oh, like your parents did with you?”
Blythe took several deep breaths as her cheeks turned pink. “I don’t have to take this.”
With that, she turned on her heel and marched back down the path toward the camp. She’d had enough of Daniel Stephens and his rose-colored-glasses view of life. Sure, camp was supposed to be an escape, but there was also reality. Kids got sick even when they were having fun.
And she’d do whatever she had to in order to protect them.
Has your faith ever been tested? Have you ever been filled with fear in the face of scary circumstances? It’s one thing to trust God when life is easy, but when we’re facing the unknown, trust becomes a challenge. Especially if you tend to be a fixer, like me. Yet there are many things in this world that can’t be fixed or controlled. It’s then we either reject God or cling to The One who holds us and our future in His hands. Day by day, moment by moment.
Telling Blythe and Daniel’s story was as difficult as it was fulfilling. Cancer is a word that can impart fear into the strongest person. Like the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy, cancer has impacted many lives. Young, old, male, female... And I would love nothing more than to see this dreaded disease wiped off the face of this earth.
This was the final book in my Rocky Mountain Heroes series. I hope you enjoyed watching the Stephens men find love as much as I did. But there are plenty more relationships to explore, so I hope we’ll meet again soon. Until then, I would love to hear from you.
