      Dedication

I dedicate this book to my grandmother who raised me, Adeliade Thompson. God called her home in 2010, and I truly lost my best friend. There are no words that can convey my loss or represent the impact she had in my life. As with Christ and my mother, my grandmother is with me always.

      Acknowledgements

I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his blessings, and for giving me the ability to write this book, and giving you the impetus to buy it!

I thank my four sons, Ethan, Rian, Corey, and Collier for being part of my legacy. I am comfortable with the men my older sons have become and for the man Collier will become.

Thanks to Jeannie D’Angelis who writes an amazing blog in a very unique voice. I anxiously await her first book, as Jeannie is a superb writer, and she provided indefatigable help in this effort.

Rachael Williams is one of the most gifted writers and thinkers I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am grateful for her research, ideas, as well as her writing support.

I thank my friends Brad Thomas and Dale Cole for reminding me of whom I am in their own ways. Thanks for showing me that true friendship has no statute of limitations.

I’d like to thank The Black Sphere team of Dave Perkins, Jeremy Buff, Tom Schlegel, Rick Perry, Brandon Vanderford, Marc Reece, Robbin Frazho, Essie Grant, Stacey Carbonel, KJ Adan, Jamie Treadwell, Cynthia Mooney, and many others who have contributed in so many ways.

      Introduction

If you’re going to tell people the truth, you better make them laugh; otherwise they’ll kill you. – George Bernard Shaw

      ***

When I think of Obama I ask myself, “Does this budget make America’s butt look big?” I see a man completely out of touch with the average American, performing an all out assault on achievement. Worse, Obama treats America, not like he’s her leader, but more like he’s her savior or master.

Professor and political pundit Michael Eric Dyson said that Obama brought “sexy brilliance to the White House.” I couldn’t help but wonder if Obama had a pet named “Sexy Brilliance,” because surely Dyson wasn’t referring to Barack?!

Forget political labels for a moment and ask yourself if you’re tired of being used by politicians of whatever party. It seems that the government is constantly looking for ways to get something from us, and they have boundless creativity in getting what they want—even when it’s not what We The People want. Politicians are about getting our money and keeping their power, and the Obama administration has accomplished this better than all other administrations combined.

Fighting the system is like trying to put a g-string on an alligator, and it seems at times that there is no way to end the nonsense. When did we stop seeing government as a necessary nuisance, as opposed to the cure for all our ills? Perhaps a better question is how have we allowed the Left to infect us with this pathology?

Sexy Brilliance is not another historical narrative, but more of an observational journey; an attempt to widen your perspective, and show what is happening today to continue steal your imagination, dreams, and ambitions.

It’s an interesting time to be a black Conservative in America. Black Conservatives may be the only group in America who have Liberals shaking like a Chihuahua pooping peach pits. Black Conservatives get to say what others believe they can’t say, or at least that’s what non-black Conservatives tell me.

I was discussing my work with a well-known political pundit, and he said to me, “Kevin if I say what you say, I’d get burned at the stake.” I found it amazing that a person who has the bully pulpit still feels hesitant to tackle controversial issues. In a Bizarro World scenario of the 1960’s Civil Rights Era, we find today it is the black Conservative marching hand in hand with oppressed whites in order to get Civil Rights for all Americans.

Sexy Brilliance says what is being thought, but not said. This book explores many fallacies of Liberalism, and points the finger at politics as usual. My objective is to teach people how to look for the inconsistencies, the ironies, and of course the hypocrisies of politics; but more importantly, I want to strengthen people’s resolve to confront these issues, armed with even more information and the knowledge of what they can do to undo the Change™ that America has been given.

Conservatives are constantly telling me that they are “hiding” in their jobs, afraid to speak out. How many conversations go unchallenged, as Liberals impose their distorted views, based on idiotic logic? Every time that happens, a battle is lost. And after decades of losing small battles, Conservatives have managed to lose the war. Sexy Brilliance speaks to Conservatives and non-political people with common sense enough to know that they are being robbed of their rights.

      We are at a point in America, where Conservatives need lots of voices. Conservatives need a modern-day version of the Civil Rights movement. Liberals have owned the narrative for decades, not afraid to speak on any subject, and with no retribution. Ask yourself when Liberals have felt afraid to speak up? {crickets}

In a country where the First Amendment of our Constitution guarantees free speech, few Conservatives have the guts to exercise that right. Conservatives act much like the slaves of the past, those who would not dare speak against the Masters. Our Master has become our government.

You can’t be against illegal immigration or you’re heartless. Sexy Brilliance shows you that the Left wants illegal immigration, and not always for the reasons you think. If you don’t want ObamaCare somehow you are heartless and racist. Not so fast. You can’t be against radical Islam or you’re an Islamophobe. Find out the underlying reasons why the Left sides with Islam over Judeo-Christian. Sexy Brilliance proves how quickly the Left can become Conservative, when homosexuality hits home, for example.

The Left has an exhaustive list of “phobias” for Conservatives and I debunk many of them. Sexy Brilliance examines government, the media, Hollywood and all other shrines to the Left in all their colors, religions, sexual nuances, and so on, and holds a magnifying glass of truth for the reader.

One would think that the election of a black president would be vindication of America’s ability to overcome whatever horrible past of which the Left is responsible. It hasn’t, because the Left loves using all their “isms” to keep Conservatives backing up.

Because it was the left who proffered America’s first half-black president, any criticism of him is immediately labeled racist. An intriguing concept, when you consider that the Left got what they wanted, yet America has worsened racially…and in about every other way.

Sexy Brilliance offers real solutions for Republicans and Conservatives, while also being a self-help reference for recovering Liberals. Sexy Brilliance enhances what my book The BIG Black Lie did: Empower Conservatives[1] to embrace their political identity.

Will Republicans seize the day and capitalize on the failures of the Obama administration? Will Republicans continue
