has power over us because we are not under the law but under grace. He cannot use the law to point our weaknesses to God or to us anymore. His main weapon of condemnation has been removed forever. The handwriting of requirement that was against us has been wiped out. It has been taken out of the away, having been nailed on the cross. Jesus died to give us freedom from the power of satan and to turn us from darkness to light, so that we may receive the forgiveness of sins and the inheritance.

      The Process To Inherit

What normally happens in a succession situation is that after the death of the Testator, a meeting will be convened between the beneficiary and the Executor for the reading and implementation of the Will. The Executor will then read the Testament and inform the beneficiaries about the terms of the Testament and how the Testament will be executed.

In the New Testament, the letters of the Apostle Paul explains the Testament but only the Holy Spirit can make the terms of the Testament a reality. The Testament is referred to as new because there is also an old one. The old has, however, been made obsolete by the new as already said. If the Testator writes two Testaments before he dies, only the last Testament will become applicable after his death. Normally a Testator writes a second Testament if the first one does not properly or fully represents his wishes. By writing the second Testament, the first one becomes obsolete (no longer used or outdated).

The Apostle Paul in Hebrews 8:7 says that if the first covenant (referring to the Old Testament) had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. Verse 13 says, “…Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” God saw a need to initiate a New Testament to replace the first one. The Church today is battling to embrace the New Testament and tries very hard to work with both of them. By trying to work with both, the Church is not able to inherit or benefit from any of them.

In the book of Acts 1:4 Jesus (the Testator) convened a meeting of the beneficiaries (the Church) and the Holy Spirit (the Executor) for the execution of the Testament, before He ascended to heaven. He told His disciples not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit (Executor). At this stage, the New Testament was still not in place because the Testator was still with them. After He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit, He ascended to heaven as they watched Him. In Acts 2:2 the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles in the upper room and the execution process commenced.

The main function of the Holy Spirit on earth is to honour and glorify Jesus Christ. Jesus is honoured and glorified when the Holy Spirit takes (receives, draws upon) what belongs to Jesus and reveals (declares, discloses, and transmits) it to us (John 16:14AMPC). Jesus is glorified and honoured when we walk in the power of the new covenant. The benefits of the cross is everything that Jesus died for: peace, protection, prosperity, perfect health and the presence of God. This is our inheritance! The Holy Spirit guarantees our inheritance.

      Ephesians 1:13-14

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

Many people die without a Testament and this is a big injustice to the people that are left behind. All of us must have a Will that clearly spells out how our estates must be administered after we have gone to be with the Lord. To leave a Will is a sign of maturity, love and honour for those that are left behind. Those who die and not leave a Will create chaos and unnecessary fights amongst the family members that are left behind. There are many estates that remain unresolved for years and children suffer because daddy died without leaving a Will. In some cases, the assets of the estate, as well as the insurance policies are only known to the deceased and are never discovered after his death. The children live in poverty while daddy left behind a lot of money and assets. I wonder what kind of sermons would be preached every Sunday if Jesus died without leaving a Will (New Testament). We all would have continued to suffer and mourn under the Law until now.

To write a Testament and not appoint an Executor is almost the same as having written no Testament at all because those who are left behind will not know what to do with it. Once a Will is written, it must be left in the custody of the appointed Executor. The beneficiaries must know the details of the Executor and where to find him. This is what Jesus did before He ascended to heaven. He told the disciples about the coming of the Holy Spirit and what His role is going to be. No one can inherit the promise of the new covenant without the Holy Spirit. He holds the key that unlocks the inheritance. He is the only one the Church needs to lean on in these difficult times in the world. His primary mandate from the Father is to take what belongs to Him and transmit it to us. This is what inheritance is all about, and this is how the new covenant is being implemented.

The time for us to mourn are over. Jesus has risen from the dead and ascended to the Father in great power. He did not leave us as orphans but left us with the most powerful person on earth today, the Holy Spirit.

In Matthew 9:15 Jesus referred to fasting as mourning. The disciples of John asked Him why they and the Pharisees fasted and His disciples did not fast. Jesus said, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.” In this passage Jesus refers to Himself as the bridegroom, to His disciples as the friends of the bridegroom and to fasting as mourning. The secret to interpreting this scripture is understanding the part that speaks of the days when “the bridegroom will be taken away”. This period refers to the time when Jesus was arrested until His resurrection, not after His ascension. After Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit fell upon the friends of the bridegroom in the upper room and Jesus was united with them in the person of the Holy Spirit forever, never to leave them again. As you read this book, if you are born-again, the Bridegroom lives in you. That’s all that I will say about this. Those who have ears let them hear! In Matthew 9:16-17, Jesus warns us of the consequences of mixing law and grace. He says that when we mix the two, we lose the benefit from both of them.

The New Testament cannot be implemented or executed outside the primary function of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit operates on God’s behalf to reveal and glorify the Son Jesus Christ. This speaks of the trinity of God. They are three personalities yet they are one. They are intertwined and work hand in hand. You and I will never walk in the power of the new covenant unless we first understanding the heart of the Father, the sacrificial act of the Son and the primary function of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the bearer and conferrer of the inheritance.

      2 Corinthians 3:4-6

“And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

We must listen to what the Apostle Paul says and note it. Our prosperity is from God through our Lord Jesus Christ, not from ourselves. We must never ever think that we can partake in the new covenant if we continue to be ministers of the old covenant. The Holy Spirit does not respond to the old covenant but to the new. We do not receive the supply of the Spirit of God for miracles through the works of the law, but by the hearing of faith (Galatians 3:5). The inheritance is by promise and not by obedience to the law.

We are living in very exciting times where God is causing a shaking in the realm of the spirit. There is a removal of things that are being shaken, so that the things that cannot be shaken may remain (Hebrews 12:25-28). I share a mystery with you: the recent political changes in the world, the increase in food shortage, threat of war, America’s conflict with Iran and North Korea over nuclear weapons, are all positioning the Church for the coming wealth transfer. I’m sure that you are aware that the United Nations is slowly losing its control, significance and power. Things are being shaken in the world so that you can take possession of your inheritance.
