This book is dedicated to my two beautiful and intelligent daughters, Shyanne and Samantha. Anything is possible in life, so keep chasing your dreams no matter your age.
Acknowledgments
I have always loved learning about mythology, so to bring those characters and different gods and deities to life from so many different cultures was a dream come true. I have had this underwater world in my mind for years and finally being able to get it down into the start of this series is a triumph for me.
I want to thank so many different people who thought my idea of this crazy underwater world and mythological creatures was a great idea. Thank you to my daughter Samantha for being a great research partner. Thanks to my models and one crazy long day of the photo shoot to help me get my characters and ideas come to life. Chance and Miranda, you were complete strangers, yet you helped me create Tane and Leia so perfectly for this cover, plus Lane Kokoruda as my brave Delphine. Thanks to my daughter Shyanne and photographer Amanda for helping keep everyone on track during our photo shoot. I can’t forget my great makeup artist Elizabeth Dyson—Glam Faces and all her gold glitter, and my best friends Amy Holmes and Amanda Kunz for helping me when I was blocked or stumped to push ahead and give great feedback and criticism when it was needed.
I hope you enjoy my War of the Water Gods series. I will be continuing this war over the next few books. Keep a lookout for what is to come.

“I just heard the rumors! Why haven’t you told me? What are we going to do?” My breath is short from running across the palace looking for my father, and worry is running through me. I see him glance up momentarily, but he returns to his writing as if there isn’t a major issue happening. I frown, exasperated at his unconcerned approach to these nasty rumors that have come from some of the myr-families returning from their travels.
“There is nothing to worry about, Leia,” he replies without looking up.
“Are you serious? Of course there is!”
“This is not the first time
